I am on a day off from Kamp and thought I would update you on things since my last post. Well as you know now, I am working at Kanakuk! The term started on June 1 and my director called me 2 days before the term started and asked me if I was still available to work. I said, "absolutely!" So within 24 hours of that phone call, I arrived at Kamp and got assigned a cabin and a co-counselor. It was crazy, but after a couple of days I settled in. I am in Cabin 17 this summer and I am working with 16 year olds. It's been stretching as ministry always can be, but I know the Lord has me there for a reason.
My day off has been good! I met up with my parents, sister, and her kids for dinner at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Mo. Today I have relaxed and caught up on phone calls and such. It's been so nice to see my mom and dad. Speaking of...my dad is doing ok. He completed chemo and radiation treatment last week, but he is really feeling all the side affects. Just keep praying for Him in every way!
Oh and by the way...
I HAVE 25 DAYS TILL ZAMBIA!!!
I am so excited to see what the Lord does this year!! Well I hope you all are doing well!! Miss y'all!! Keep praying for my cabin of girls while I'm at Kanakuk. They have very different backgrounds and some of them need to be broken of things in their life. Pray for them to see God's Truth and to grasp it in a new way!! Also, pray that the Lord would give me wisdom and discernment for leading my girls, but for what is the Lord wants me to do in the fall!
Chasing after Him,
Joy
